Goldfinch

The European goldfinch isn't nearly as gold as the American goldfinch. It just has a bit of gold under the wings.

Blue Tit

The weather on Saturday was absolutely gorgeous - lots of birds out and about, collecting nesting materials and flirting.

Woodpigeon

Yes, it's just a pigeon but it was sitting in very flattering light. The most exciting spot of yesterday was a sparrowhawk with something small and furry clutched in its talons. It flew right across the path in front of us, but of course neither of us were quick enough on the draw to get a photo.

Kingfisher

This is another one I wasn't around for. Paul woke up early and the weather was nice so he went for a walk while I dozed and researched Sunday lunch options.
