The terns are back for the summer. Lovely birds - incredibly fast moving and agile.

The swallows are back.

I think we were as surprised to see him as he was to see us.

Sparrowhawk

Didn't get a picture of this one, because I had my back turned and was photographing Easter treats when a sparrowhawk landed on one of our patio chairs. Definitely one to look out for in future, now we know it visits!

Goldfinch

The European goldfinch isn't nearly as gold as the American goldfinch. It just has a bit of gold under the wings.

Blue Tit

The weather on Saturday was absolutely gorgeous - lots of birds out and about, collecting nesting materials and flirting.
